These tests have been carefully selected for efficacy, comfort and accuracy. Testing is always performed by a licensed Audiologist. |

VAT:
The VAT™ is the most accurate and easiest to perform of all diagnostic balance tests available today. The VAT can record and analyze performance of the inner ear in a natural, comfortable manner. Testing is painless, non-invasive and can be performed in as little as 15 minutes. The VAT is recommended for diagnosis of most types of balance disorders. |

ENG:
(Electronystagmography) - The ENG can help determine the origination of symptoms by providing a detailed view of eye movements during different activities. Additionally, the use of calorics (thermal stimulation) can help localize and determine if the deficit is in one ear, or both. The ENG is often used in combination with the VAT, and is recommended for patients who cannot perform the VAT. |

Audiometry:
![]() Audiometry, is a hearing evaluation can help determine associated factors such as degrees of hearing loss, potential source of hearing dysfunction and middle ear function. Audiometry is commonly prescribed along with the VAT and ENG to determine the full scope of inner ear function. Your physician can determine what tests are most appropriate for you. |

BPPV:
BPPV is a common disorder of the inner ear that can cause disabling attacks of vertigo and even falling. The Dix-Hallpike is a unique positional test designed to illicit and diagnose benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Because there are several forms of BPPV, we utilize several methods to accurately determine which canal of the ear is affected which assures successful treatment. |

Clinical Balance Evaluation:
The Balance Disorders of Los Angeles utilizes some of the most comprehensive clinical assessment tools available. Sensory integration, gaze stability, dynamic balance, posturography and gait tasks are rendered to simulate a wide variety commonly encountered daily activities. Functional performance values, as well as diagnostic results, are analyzed to determine the most appropriate form of therapy needed. |
